There’s a new design studio in Grimsby. Conker Studio has officially opened its doors, bringing brand, digital and creative design together with a simple ambition: to make thoughtful, effective design accessible to ambitious businesses across North East Lincolnshire.
Why we chose Grimsby
Grimsby feels like the right place to start. It’s a town with a strong identity and a long history of making things happen, from fishing and food to engineering, manufacturing and the businesses growing around them today. Alongside those established industries is a new generation of independent businesses, entrepreneurs and creative people helping to shape what comes next.
That’s what makes the area so interesting to us. There are plenty of businesses here with something worth saying, but being good at what you do and communicating it well aren’t always the same thing. We see design as a way of closing that gap - helping businesses express who they are, what they do and where they want to go.
Being a design studio in Grimsby also means we understand the local market. We know the difference between a business that serves the whole of North East Lincolnshire and one that relies on a loyal crowd from a few streets away, and we design with that in mind - whether that's a brand that needs to stand out on a busy high street or a website that needs to show up when someone nearby searches for what you do.
What to expect from a design studio in Grimsby
Conker is an independent studio, and that means staying curious. We’re interested in the thinking behind a business as much as the finished design. Whether it’s a new idea taking shape or an established business ready for a change, the starting point is always understanding the problem before deciding what the solution should look like.
In practice, that means a proper conversation before anything else. We'll ask about your customers, your competitors and what's working at the moment, then put forward a clear plan with honest timings and costs. Throughout the project you'll see work early and often, so there are no surprises at the end - just a finished result you're proud to put your name to.
What we do
As a design studio in Grimsby, we work across four main areas. Branding gives a business a clear, consistent identity, while logo design creates the mark at the heart of it. Graphic design covers everything from print and packaging to signage, social media and merchandise, and web design brings it all together online with fast, mobile-friendly websites that are built to be found.
Most projects mix a few of these, so rather than selling a fixed package, we'd rather get to know your business first and recommend what will genuinely help. You'll deal directly with the people doing the work, and we'll always explain our thinking in plain English - so you know exactly what you're getting and why. You can see some of the results in our work.
Grimsby is home, and being a design studio in Grimsby matters to us. Good ideas don't need a big-city postcode, and businesses here shouldn't feel they need to look or think like businesses somewhere else. We want Conker to be part of the local creative and business community, championing the businesses that make North East Lincolnshire what it is. We've written more about why we think Grimsby businesses are ready for a new creative chapter.
Let's talk
If you're thinking about a new brand, a website or simply a fresh look at how your business presents itself, we'd love to hear from you. There's no pressure and no jargon - just an honest conversation about what would help. Working with a design studio in Grimsby also means you can meet face to face, see work in progress over a coffee and pick up the phone to the person actually doing the work. Get in touch and tell us what you're working on.
Opening the doors is just the beginning. We’re looking forward to meeting the businesses, people and ideas that make North East Lincolnshire what it is, and seeing what we can create together.
