Conker opened its doors as a Grimsby design studio in September 2026 with a simple belief: businesses here deserve the same thoughtful, effective design as anywhere else - without having to look or sound like somewhere else to get it.
Grimsby is a town with a strong identity and a long history of making things happen, from fishing and food to engineering and the businesses growing around them today. There are plenty of companies here with something worth saying. But being great at what you do and communicating it well aren't always the same thing. We started Conker to help businesses in the area close that gap - and stand out.
Conker was founded by Joe, who was born in the area, studied in Coventry and worked in the Midlands before moving back home. Coming back, he saw plenty of local businesses doing brilliant work but blending into the background - so he set up Conker to help empower them to stand out.
Grimsby is home, and that matters to us.
Joe is a local lad through and through. Born in the area, he studied in Coventry and spent the next few years working in the Midlands before moving back home to start Conker - with one simple aim: to help businesses here stand out. Today he runs Conker as a one-to-one Grimsby design studio and works directly with every client, so you'll always be talking to the person doing the work - no account managers, no hand-offs.
Outside the studio you'll usually find him out walking Cub, his golden retriever, or coaching at the gym - he's a qualified CrossFit Level 1 coach, so he knows the fitness world from the inside as well as the design one.
