YMCA Humber has been part of the community in Grimsby since 1882, offering supported housing, youth work, family services and a busy community café from its home in the town centre. With so many services, audiences and partners, the charity needed design that could explain a lot, clearly, while still feeling warm, welcoming and unmistakably YMCA Humber.
We work with the team as an ongoing design partner, creating everything from trustee recruitment booklets and partnership campaigns to café materials, event stands and outdoor posters. Every piece sits comfortably within the national YMCA identity, using YMCA Humber's own palette of lime, orange, teal and charcoal to give the local work a personality of its own.
Good charity graphic design has to speak to very different people at once - young people looking for support, parents joining the Young Dads Collective, prospective trustees and local businesses thinking about becoming a Friend of YMCA Humber. We built a flexible system of bold angled shapes, clear typography and confident colour that adapts to each audience without losing its consistency.
For the Young Dads Collective, delivered with the University of Lincoln and Coram Family and Childcare, that meant leaflets and social posts that feel approachable rather than official. In The Bradbury Café, table talkers turn a coffee break into a conversation about supporting local young people, with QR codes linking straight to the Friends scheme.
YMCA Humber now has a consistent, recognisable presence across everything it produces - from event stands and outdoor posters promoting its 2025 impact video to the materials people pick up in the café. It's charity graphic design that makes an organisation with a lot going on feel clear, connected and easy to support.
If your charity or community organisation needs design that works as hard as your team does, we'd love to help. Take a look at how we approach graphic design and branding, or get in touch for a chat.
